Junaid Qadir


Profile:

I'm the director of the Cognet lab which operates under the PTCL, Cisco, NUST IP technology center of excellence situated at SEECS, NUST. I'm also an Assistant Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of SEECS, NUST since 2008. I've taught various courses both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels - details of which can be seen here.

I have research experience in wireless networks having worked in the area of routing in wireless mesh networks during my PhD studies under the supervision of Chun Tung Chou at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. Before my PhD studies, I worked actively in the networking industry for around 4 years where I gained hands-on experience working on the largest data networks in the country. Amongst other places, I have worked at PTCL’s Pakistan Internet Exchange (PIE) and at the national data networks of National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC).

I have completed my undergraduate degree from the Electrical Engineering department at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore in 2000.
